The Amsterdam TangoMarathon is organised bij TangoTerras in cooperation with Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy.
TangoTerras is an initiative of Wouter Apituley and Jan Dirk van Abshoven, who started a large tangosalon in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, which had a huge terrace in front of the building, overlooking the IJ-river, that runs through Amsterdam.
From the inside dancefloor, the view was magnificent, but unfortunately, outside dancing was not possible, the floor was not even, and hence hardly danceable.
We, organisers Wouter and Jan Dirk, now have the opportunity, to organize in the middle of summer, an outside terrace milonga, behind the impressive, historic Lloyd Hotel.
On top of that, we can use it for a whole weekend, and after midnight, when we have to stop the music outside - due to city regulations - we can continue inside the hotel.
