Approaching from the A10 ring road take exit S114 (Zeeburg/Centrum/Artis) and follow the signs for Centrum. Follow this road straight ahead. It will lead you into the Piet Hein tunnel. In the tunnel, keep to the right hand lane. When you exit the tunnel turn right at the lights, onto the Piet Heinkade. Turn right at the first lights. The road takes a sharp turn to the right, you are now on the Oostelijke Handelskade. If you wish to park in the parking garage, you turn right into the garage after the second building. If not, keep going straight ahead along the Oostelijke Handelskade. Prices of parking garage are € 3,- per hour or € 25,- per 24 hour. The Lloyd Hotel is located 400 meters along on the right hand side.
By public transport
From the Central Station, take tram 26 (IJtram) for a direct connection and get off at the third stop: Rietlandpark.
The timetable for Tram 26 can be found here
By taxi
Please check the prices with the taxi drivers. The average prices from the airport Schiphol to the Lloyd Hotel are € 49,- and from the central station the average price is € 10,-. We can not guarantee these prices. We advise you to take a taxi with a quality label. Allway insist taxidrivers run the meter, they are obliged to do so...
You are not obliged to use the first taxi in line. So take another if you don't feel comfortable. Whatever you do, don't get into an argument, Amsterdam taxidrivers are known to be dangerous.
Cheap parking
A very cheap way to park, is P+R. These are parking spaces on the outskirts of the city, where one can conveniently switch to public transport. Parking in a P+R costs € 6,- a day. This includes free public transport for five people or two bicycles (Click here to read the full length text of the regulations applicable).
The nearest P+R is at Zeeburgereiland. From here Tram 26 takes you from Zuiderzeeweg to Rietlandpark in only one stop. Mind you, this is not a walkable route, it goes straight through the Piet Hein Tunnel.
Only at Sloterdijk station and the Olympic stadium, you can borrow a maximum of two bicycles free of charge instead of using public transport.
